  1. Yes – I am very proud of her. Labour was intense – waters broke at 5.30am Tuesday, went to hospital at 5.30pm, laboured overnight and into Wednesday, and stage 2 (fully dilated – pushing) started around 2pm. After 3 hours of pushing, he wasn't coming out. He never turned from OP (head down, but facing forward rather than backward) despite everything we'd done before and during labour, so a c-section was the final option.

  2. Oh and did I mention that she didn't have any pain meds for the whole labour (except finally an epidural the c-section, obviously)?

The only meds during labour were antibiotics, which is normal when labour starts with water breaking, especially if it goes long.

  3. What a heroine – good on yer Becky for doing it on endorphins alone! As a fellow “prolonged second-stager” (I too pushed for 3 hours while my son failed to get the hint and get moving) I salute you. These big bouncing boys with Cambridge-compsci-sized brains… what can I say!! They need a big skull to accommodate that much grey matter – unfortunately for us mummies 🙂
