Sonic BOOM!

Couple of mornings ago, I was woken up at around 5.10am by two loud bangs that shook the house. “What was that?” I think… I figure it was a brief earthquake jolt of the kind that are common here, and went back to sleep.

Today I realised what it really was… the Space Shuttle entering the atmosphere on its way to land at Edwards. Bloody astronauts. Always making a big entrance.

  1. That is very cool. Watched the news feeds live from mission control (BBC had it on the website) for the 2 days leading up to the landing. They cut to 20 mins of the view of Earth from the International Space Station as the sun went down, looked amazing.
