Couple of mornings ago, I was woken up at around 5.10am by two loud bangs that shook the house. “What was that?” I think… I figure it was a brief earthquake jolt of the kind that are common here, and went back to sleep.
Today I realised what it really was… the Space Shuttle entering the atmosphere on its way to land at Edwards. Bloody astronauts. Always making a big entrance.
Everyone was talking about that at work. Apparently, it woke everyone but me, as usual. I'm the heaviest sleeper. I've actually slept through fire alarms. Plural.

That is very cool. Watched the news feeds live from mission control (BBC had it on the website) for the 2 days leading up to the landing. They cut to 20 mins of the view of Earth from the International Space Station as the sun went down, looked amazing.
