A bit light on technical books this time, but I did snag quite a quantity of old SF paperbacks, and a box set of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Software-Engineering-Classics-Programming-General\/dp\/0735605971\/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books&#038;qid=1214971981&#038;sr=8-1\">software engineering classics<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Of late, I&#8217;ve had some unsolicited interest in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elbeno.com\/rotateavi\/index.html\">RotateAVI<\/a>. There is a reported bug that causes it to hang on 0% though &#8211; I&#8217;ll have to track that one down.<\/li>\n<li>California&#8217;s hands-free cellphone law came into effect today. Another way for the cops to get their revenue quota, with a very <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/ethicalesq\/2008\/06\/30\/californias-make-believe-car-phone-safety-law\/\">questionable basis<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/technology.newscientist.com\/channel\/tech\/motoring-tech\/mg18725083.200\">in science<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Congratulations to <a href=\"http:\/\/xach.livejournal.com\/\">Zach<\/a> on both his <a href=\"http:\/\/xach.livejournal.com\/177851.html\">latest<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/xach.livejournal.com\/176308.html\">releases<\/a>.<br \/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another book sale last weekend.
