Had a couple of friends staying on Saturday, so we went to Universal Studios. It's pretty good – an actual Theme Park rather than a collection of rides. In fact the rides are fairly tame as these things go, but that's not bad. The view over the valley is amazing, and they have a huge… Continue reading Universal Studios

eVest!
I just took delivery of my new fleece. It rocks. I gave one to my dad for Xmas and he loves it, so it was only a matter of time before I crumbled. I took advantage of the 40% discount afforded by the recent sale they had.
A plea to wordsmiths…
Come on, people. If your job involves using English professionally, take some time to learn it. In particular: – “Begging the question” does not mean “implying/requiring that the question be asked” – “Schizophrenia” is not having multiple personalities – “Enormity” does not mean “great size” When you use words wrongly, it just confuses and annoys… Continue reading A plea to wordsmiths…

For a while there I was sorely tempted. Then, luckily for me, there was a spate of server problems, and Blizzard have stopped selling it for the time being. What I can “remember” is mostly what I know happened, rather than any real remembering. The things I can actually remember are few and far between, viz. 9/11 (the JFK assassination of our… Continue reading What happened to this decade?
Rose Parade!
Yesterday I went to the Rose Parade in Pasadena and took lots of pictures. We got up at 5 since we had bought tickets to a grandstand and official parking and we had to be parked by 7. Then we had breakfast at Denny's in Pasadena. The parade started at 8 with a flyby of… Continue reading Rose Parade!
