Well, there is now a front end to Inform 7 on Linux, using Haskell and GTK. The compilers are still Windows exes so must be run with Wine. For now. One would think it pretty straightforward to recompile a command line app though.
Linux vs Windows, number i in a series of 2^n
I am now, at home, a mostly exclusive Linux user. There are now only 2 or 3 things that I boot Windows for. And I’m finding now that for many things, Windows is now a burden and in fact less powerful and (which is more significant) less easy than Linux. Now I know what you’re… Continue reading Linux vs Windows, number i in a series of 2^n
interactive fiction – a new direction!
Inform 7 is out, and it looks like a whole new way to write IF. Very exciting! Although I must say I’m surprised by the lack of Linux version: why didn’t they slap a GTK front end on it rather than writing Windows and Mac specific code?
E3 roundup
Another year, another E3, another photoset on flickr. Reports of booth babe bans were exaggerated (yay). But overall, a fairly lacklustre E3. I didn’t queue for the PS3 or the Wii. Update

Goodbye to WoW
I cancelled my subscription. Anyone want my stuff?
Eurovision

Heath Robinson machines again
From a Japanese show. As if it weren't impressive enough (including the catchy theme), look out for the Marmite pot making an appearance at about 9 minutes. PS. For Americans, Heath Robinson = Rube Goldberg.
The Pile
I’m making an attempt to get through all the games I have which for one reason or another I haven’t completed, or in many cases have not played for more than an hour, and in some cases have not played at all. Some of the games (not even all, it goes farther back) in this… Continue reading The Pile
