cups, foomatic & gimp-print excitement

Finally got the wireless print server working properly with all the PCs in the house (WinXP, Win2K, Debian and Gentoo). Debian was the easiest (cups admin page). Win2K not bad (install disc). WinXP tough (install disc & fiddling with network connections). Gentoo the toughest (nothing for printing in place already). It turned out that I needed to install foomatic after gimp-print so that it picked up the drivers correctly and I could install the printer from the cups admin webpage.

Linux. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.
